The Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) is a civilian law enforcement agency within the United States Department of the Navy. It serves as the primary investigative agency for the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps and has jurisdiction over both criminal and counterintelligence investigations involving Navy and Marine Corps personnel, as well as civilians affiliated with the Department of the Navy.

NCIS operates worldwide and is responsible for investigating a wide range of criminal offenses, including:

1. Homicide
2. Sexual assault
3. Fraud
4. Espionage
5. Terrorism
6. Cybercrime
7. Drug trafficking
8. Theft
